Comparison of the Anti-asthmatic Potential of Himalayan Plants Lonicera obovata Royle and Morina longifolia Wall: An in vivo Study

Abstract:Background: Asthma is a very common chronic disease in which there an inflammation the lungs. Inflammatory airways narrowing, spasms, over-secretion mucus, bronchoconstriction, eosinophilic airway are generally seen asthmatic condition. Globally, its prevalence rising constantly. The extracts Lonicera obovata Morina longifolia Caprifoliaceae family were traditionally used by Himalayan local people to treat inflammatory conditions. Objectives: goal this experimental study was identify phytochemicals plants through GC-MS. To investigate compare anti-asthmatic potential methanolic whole plant L. root M. in-vivo experiments. Materials Methods: determined method leukocytosis eosinophilia induced milk Swiss albino mice model. Results: Various secondary active phytoconstituents detected GC-MS screening method, some have anti-allergic (anti-asthmatic) antihistaminic properties. vivo experiment result showed that case increased leukocyte count, shows better results than obovata, eosinophil reduce count. Conclusion: could be due presence like 1-Monolinoleoylglycerol trimethylsilyl ether Octadec-9-enoic acid Cis-vaccenic both extracts.
